Nothin' Better than a Comfortable Pair of Jeans and Pics too!

Thursday finds me doing pretty well. My poor husband didn't get home until 10pm last night after his return trip from Baton Rouge got delayed due to the severe weather we had here yesterday. He was pooped and so was I. This of course sometimes leads to gripey attitudes and grumbling. And this was one of those times. But, it happens and we've been married long enough that we know grumbling doesn't equal fighting.

Yesterday's food was good. I had yogurt, an oatmeal muffin and a plum for breakfast. (276 cal). Lunch was another muffin, apple and a small salad (213 cal). Dinner was chicken breast and a WHOLE heap of asparagus and a little brown rice. For dessert a small whole wheat low fat brownie my Nanny made for the kids. Total calories for the day were 1357.

Exercise for yesterday was C25K Week 8 day 2, a do-over from the weekend where I tried to run in Oklahoma on hilly roads and with tons of wind. Couldn't finish then, but did yesterday. Smile. Then last night I practiced my TKD moves as I have class again today. Pretty funny watching my 4, 6, and 12 year old give me pointers and tips and saying, " No Mom, like this." Or "It's OK Mom. Everyone has to practice. You can't always do it right the first time." Huh. Out of mouths of babes right?

My NSV for today is that I'm wearing my new OU hoodie that I bought this weekend at a "normal" store in Norman on Sunday. It is one I'd been eyeing and evying, but it doesn't come in 2X. STILL doesn't. NOW I'm wearing an XL. WITH my size 16 jeans.

Can't wait until next week as I have some coupons for Lane Bryant and I'm going to buy another pair or 2 as these are so comfortable for me. I'm also wondering If I can wear a 14 as these are a little baggy in the butt and hips. They finally brought back "normal" jeans, not the down on the hips kind that just leave us larger ladies w/ a whole fatty band of goo oozing out the waist band. Uck. SOOOO uncomfortable and looks nasty when you sit down, oozing fat in front, butt crack and bootie oozing out the back. THESE jeans are normal jeans that hit me where they should at the waist, thus NO extra ooze. Smile.

It was suggested to me that I post some before and after pics. I honestly don't see a huge difference yet, but I found some after much effort. It was really shocking how few pics I have of me by myself. Like...VERY few that I'm not hiding behind an object, child, jacket, etc. I want to take some better after pics soon and post this on a separate page. IF I can figure that out.

Here's a couple of crappy pictures I took of myself in the BR at work. I'll try to get some better pictures up soon.

Me, summer 2008 at my 20th High School Reunion. The dress is a size 24 and I thought I looked great. Oh brother. Danced all night and had a fabulous time. Weight was about 255-260

Me in 2003, one of my heaviest weights, probably 260

Me at the beach Summer 2008 about 255, size 24 swimsuit, in the goodwill sack as we speak...er...write?...er...read? Whatever.

  4. It's so hard to see a difference in ourselves, but come on Doc! You look like a different person all together, a hot LITTLE thing! No wonder you co-worker is hiking up her hem line to compete with you. Thank god they have regular jeans back, I like the sweeatheart cut at old navy because it's not any kind of low cut. Also, what's NSV stand for?

  8. You have come far! I can see quite a difference, too. One day it will hit you like a ton of bricks when you look at your pics and wonder who that person was.

You have had more NSV's in the last couple of weeks than anyone else I follow. They just keep coming and coming. Keep it up, you're on a roll!

  16. I think you've made great changes. I think many of us have picture radar, it comes with the ability to trick myself into believing I wasn't all that overweight...then I saw a picture at my highest and knew I had to do something. You are doing so well, I'm envious and inspired.
