T minus 21 hours

Only a few more hours until I can get this nasty organ removed. I've never looked forward to surgery. Actually it's not the surgery it's the drug induced stupor and rest after. I just need to get well. That's all.  I'm still coughing and wheezing. I'm a little worried about the anesthesia as I always have an asthma attack after, but I told the surgeon so they'll be ready in post op. I'm on steroids. NASTY.  I had this uncontrollable urge to eat chocolate last night so I had fat free frozen yogurt with a little chocolate syrup. It helped. That's what steroids do to you.

For dinner I had part of a beef pot pie and was soooooooo sick after. Had gold fish after that. Gold fish crackers are the only thing that taste good. I had coffee this am. Sick. But I had to take my meds with something. If you've never had steroids, you are missing out on the nastiest tasting meds of all time. They change your taste bud and EVERYTHING is nasty, especially water. One sip and I'm likely to puke. Nice huh?

I weighed this am, no gain,no loss. I'm up 3.5 pounds from lowest weight a few weeks ago. I think this is not bad as I've maintained that through all this sickness and not being able to exercise and the whole thing.  I feel like crap. I feel like I used to feel before. My legs are cramping and sore all the time. My body craves movement and I just can't. Going up the stairs this morning to get the girls up resulted in my sitting on the side of the bed and wheezing and resting until I could breathe again. Ugh.

I hope all of you out there are doing well. I'm keeping up with the reading.  Take care all of you and keep up the good fight for me.

  4. All the best for tomorrow doc.

Sounds like those crackers are working miracles so keep munching if that's what it takes. The fact that you're still exercising control over what you eat (the yoghurt instead of chocolate) is amazing.

Take care and feel better soon.

I usually freak out a little waking up after surgery - can't remember why I'm there, can't see, etc. hate it.
