Hot 100 Update

Well, my week sucked, but then I did have an organ removed. I actually tracked my calories today even with my drug induced stupor. I've had around 300 cals so far. I'm having pasta for dinner, so at least I've saved room. If I can do it so can you. Did you?  I see a lot of posts where people are rocking this challenge, but a lot where the effort isn't all there yet. We need to buckle down now. Time stands still for none of us. 100 days isn't that long and they are whizzing by!

My goals are:
1. Be under 199 by the end of the challenge: Well since the surgery I've gained and I weigh 216. Ass hole scale!  But, a lot of this is sodium as I am dehydrated and I've been trying to drink water. So glad water doesn't taste like an old penny anymore.
2. Run a 5K-this I will do. My BFF and I are registering for one this weekend and it is Nov 14th, so I'll be able to do it by then. Still super de duper sore from surgery. Just walking to the BR is a work out right now.
3.  Wear a size 12 jeans- See #1, not back on the track there yet.
4.Get my yellow belt in TKD-umm...yeah no class right now. Maybe next Thursday, but we'll see how it goes. May be another week before I can even think about going there.
5. Do the 100 push ups and 200 sit ups 3 times a week: Ha ha ha ha ha ha.  Nope.

I'm most depressed about the weight gain. I was 209 a few weeks ago. Now I'm 216 and I'm pissed. I know most of it isn't "real weight" because I haven't pooped in 3 days. And I am really dehydrated. At least I plan to try to eat some veggies at dinner tonight. I still can't eat meat and that means, carbs. My body is so sensitive to them and I know that's a problem. But, I have to survive and heal now. I hate sounding like a whiny excuse puke mouth. Sigh.

Well, I'll just keep keeping on. What else can I do?  See ya'll tomorrow.

  1. My mom is always reminding me that Rome wasn't built over night and I think it applies to losing weight. It too us all how long to put on the weight, it will take a while to take it off as well (and hopefully not as long as it took to put it there). So, rest, heal and then get on track as soon as possible.

  2. Jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick, doc! You really are too hard on yerself sometimes.

85 days left in the Hot 100 challenge, so plenty of time to get in those jeans once you're well enough to start doing flying round-house kicks in TKD class again.

    Be well.

  6. Just get better and then worry about getting back on track. Having major surgery is hard on the body. You have done great.. Hope you are better soon.

  9. Listen salty mouth lady... give yourself a break... you are a regular human not superwoman though I know we like to think of ourselves that way... let your body heal.. and for a little while carbs are a good thing.. it was the only thing i could eat right before surgery and right after surgery... stay away from high fat food otherwise you will be high tailing it to the potty and I am not talking potty mouth.. I talking potty butt ... so .. do the carb thing and slowly over the next few weeks introduce yourself back to protein, veggies and fruits.. your body will tell you either yum... its okay.. or Fuck you I am outta here.. the last part requires fast bathroom access... lol... you are doing fabulous. you body was not only given excess fluids but if you had the laproscopic surgery they fill you will air too.. in my procedure they remove the appendix..they could not find mine lol..so they left it.. be sweet to yourself...be patient.. and be a good patient Doctor... feel better soon.. rest well.. and listen to your body..

  10. Deep breath... breathe in.... think patience. No, not the ones you treat at work. Healing takes time. Also takes some football. Who you have your money on this weekend?

  11. I thought my birthday was a reason not to track but if you can I can too. I'm sure that gain is just from retaining fluids (and poop) and salt. Drink water and try to move when you feel ready. I'm doing 100 pushups too! Just finished the 1st week. We can do it together.

    Feel better soon!

  13. I think a lot of commenters already said what I was going to say, but I'll say it too...be nice to yourself! You had surgery! You've been sick for weeks! Would you talk to a patient the way you are talking to yourself? Of course not! Things will get back to normal really soon; in the meantime, treat yourself with some kindness, my friend.

  14. Hi doc. Have been where you are right now, and yep, it is a bummer and really frustrating when plans and goals have to be shelved temporarily. But this time of recovery will pass, enjoy the down-time. You will get your energy, and fitness, and importantly, healed muscles (!) back in time to kick ass on the Hot 100. Heal well!

  15. Wow, take easy and get better - that should be your focus right now, now what the stupid scale says. You have 85 days to kick ass (so do I). So let's do it!

  16. One thing at a time. That's a small gain for all that pain. I'm happy you got through your operation safe and sound. I had fingers and toes all crossed. :)
